The brothers Günther and Hugo Böhm found the company under the name "Gebrüder Böhm"

1928
Production of high-voltage neon tubes for neon signs and effects lighting

1945
Boom in demand: a systematic expansion in the production of illuminated advertising and effects lighting

1972-1990
Following the nationalisation of the company in the former German Democratic Republic, production of accessories for commercial signs based on high-voltage neon-tubes

1990
Following re-privatisation, Werner Böhm begins producing customised high-voltage neon tubes, once again under the name "Neon BÖHM Leuchtröhrenfabrik ".

1997
Change in the name of the company to Neon BÖHM GmbH & Co.KG

Technical developments enable the optimisation of the following characteristics of fluorescent lamps:
- Longer shelf life of fluorescent lamps
- Reduced loss of brightness during extended use
- Increased efficiency of the lights
- Increased environmental friendliness

1999
Continuous expansion of production capacity with increasing demand and a growing customer base

2000
Further development and optimisation of the technical properties of high-voltage fluorescent tubes in close collaboration with TU Ilmenau
(funded by the Thuringian Ministry of Economy, Research and Culture)

2006
Production of the "slit lamp" for use in conjunction with array-detector cameras

2007
Werner Böhm leaves the company. Mathias Böhm and Thomas Spiess take over the management

Expansion of product range by developing and marketing LED products in cooperation with LEDoplan GmbH and other major manufacturers
